TLP is a unique auditory intervention program that combines decades of clinical research in areas such as neurology, auditory processing, physiology, psychoacoustics and music theory, and builds on the work of respected leaders such as Alfred A. Tomatis, M.D., who helped identify the relationship between sound frequencies and their effect on functions of the mind and body.
TLP uses "psychoacoustically modified classical music," carefully designed and produced exclusively for The Listening Program. The recordings are created using live musicians, and the compositions are arranged to take advantage of different frequencies, tempo, and other factors to stimulate different parts of the brain and different functions in the auditory processing system. This enables the brain to better receive, process, store and utilize the information presented to it through the varied sounds we encounter every day - in language, music, and the environment.

An Auditory Intervention program is most effective when used in conjunction with therapy (i.e. Speech and/or Occupational Therapy) or programs currently in place. It is not recommended as a replacement for other therapies or medications that have been prescribed by a doctor.
